The SCSI ID is a number between 0 and 7 assigned to each SCSI device. Each SCSI device connected to a Macintosh must have its own unique SCSI ID. You can connect several SCSI devices to the Macintosh, as long as each one has a different SCSI ID number. You can view and change the SCSI ID of your DataFrame at any time using the utility Manager, which is included on your DataFrame Utilities disk. The Macintosh itself is a device, and its SCSI ID is always set at 7.
To connect a second SCSI device to a DataFrame that is hooked up to a Macintosh, you need a SCSI-to-SCSI cable. Connect either end of the cable to the unused port on the back of the DataFrame and secure the clips; then connect the other end of the cable to the second SCSI device. NEVER CONNECT OR DISCONNECT CABLES WHEN THE POWER IS ON.
For more information about connecting several SCSI devices, see the DataFrame owner's manual.
